The manor was built in the Middle Ages as a simple wooden fort intended for defense against the Turks. In the Renaissance, the building was rebuilt and the manor became a representative residence of the nobility. In the Baroque period, with the rise of the nobility, its representative role only strengthened. The Barons Lippitt lived in it until the end of World War II. After the Second World War, the mansion was nationalized and the Ptuj Agricultural School got its premises in it. After the Agricultural School was moved at the end of the 1980s, the manor began to deteriorate rapidly.
